3,3,5-Trimethylcyclohexanol is known for having characteristic mint flavor which is used in toothpaste & chewing gums. It has chemical formula C9H18O with molecular weight of 142.23 g/mol and density of 0.878 g/mL at 20 degrees C. This compound is also utilized as cyclandelate, a vasodilator & antispasmodic medicine. It is also required for manufacturing of sunscreens and assures great effectiveness. 3,3,5-Trimethylcyclohexanol can industrially be synthesized by hydrogenation of isophorone under controlled conditions. It shows melting & boiling points of 37 and 98 degrees Celsius respectively. This compound appears as white colored solid and can be availed at reasonable rates in large quantities.
